Electricity and water
In most housing companies, each apartment has its own electricity contract, while the company provides electricity for common areas. Water is supplied by the housing company, and charges are usually based on measured consumption or the number of residents if meters are not installed. Shareholders must report the number of occupants to ensure accurate billing.
Insurance
The housing company should have an insurance policy covering for damages and liabilities to the whole of the grounds and buildings owned by the company. This does not cover apartment interiors, personal belongings, or the shareholder’s liabilities.
Thus it is strongly recommended – although not required by law – for the shareholder to sign a personal home insurance policy covering for the interiors and individual possessions or liabilities of the shareholder.
